Tesla on Jan. 30 reported fourth-quarter results that included better-than-expected sales — but its earnings supported CEO Elon Musk’s assertion from earlier this month that the electric-car maker has a “very difficult” road ahead in 2019.

ATLANTA — Despite a generally strong economic performance in 2018, a global recession could be lurking in the shadows through 2019, a leading economist told attendees at the SMC3 Jump Start 2019 conference Jan. 30.

Transportation industry groups are criticizing a plan by some ocean carriers to begin seeking new administrative fees for cargo containers, known as “street turns.” The fees are set to take effect Feb. 4 and range from $30 to $75, depending on the carrier.
